Post Numero Uno

I thought long and hard about what to start off this blog with. This is after all my first (tentative) step into sharing myself via cyberspace, its kind of intimidating.
As most other Minnesotans will acknowledge the majority of our lives revolve around the weather. Yes, we talk about it, we dress around it, we obsess over it. It dictates what we do and where we do it. And today it is a dreary, rainy, fall day. This reminds me that in recent months I have become rather obsessed with finding the 'right' umbrella. What might you ask is the 'right' umbrella? Who knows, but these are really damn cute.

Ah, nostalgia. I swear I had this exact umbrella as a child. At Amazon.

This Cathedral print umbrella would make me feel like I was constantly sitting in Notre Dame. So cute and available over at Amazon.

Love this adorable poppy print umbrella from Coach.

Water lillies umbrella by Frank Lloyd Wright @ Moma Store available here.

Umbrellas were surprisingly a lot harder to find than I thought, given the season. But I hope you enjoyed these.

And so it lives...

Recently, I came to the conclusion that since I have begun to spend a disgustingly large amount of time on the computer surfing other sites it was time to create one of my own. Thus the idea for Cinders and Smoke was born (and now Unraveled Sweater). Not entirely sure what will go up here besides things that, in general make me happy, be this art, shopping, food, etc. Also not entirely sure who will want to read it but here goes...
